Webology · POPIA-aligned · Last updated 28 July 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information

Webology is a sole-proprietor business operated by Wesley Classen in Cape Town, South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"), Webology is the responsible party and Wesley Classen is the Information Officer. Contact: me@wesleyclassen.co.za.

2. What we collect and why

When you contact Webology or submit the enquiry form, we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the message you send. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes and previews, and deliver services you request. If you book a meeting through this site, we also store your chosen time slot and booking details. We do not buy, sell, or trade personal information, and we do not send marketing you haven't asked for.

3. Cookies and analytics

This site uses a cookie to remember your consent choice. If you accept cookies via the notice on this site, we load Google Analytics to understand website traffic (pages visited, general location, device type) — Google Analytics does not load, and no analytics cookies are set, until you accept. If you decline, no analytics run. You can change your mind at any time via your browser settings, or by clearing your browser storage for this site to see the notice again. Google's own privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Client websites: Webology as operator

Where Webology builds or maintains a website or system that processes your customers' personal information (for example bookings, orders, or enquiries on your site), your business is the responsible party for that information and Webology acts as an operator under section 20 and 21 of POPIA. Webology processes such information only on your instructions, keeps it confidential, and applies reasonable security safeguards. If a care plan ends, customer data is handed to you and removed from Webology's systems.

5. Storage and security

Personal information is stored on secured servers with access limited to the Information Officer. Reasonable technical and organisational measures — encrypted connections, access control, and backups — are applied to prevent loss, damage, and unauthorised access. Enquiry records are kept only as long as needed to serve you or as required by law, after which they are deleted.

6. Your rights under POPIA

You may ask what personal information Webology holds about you, request correction or deletion of it, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za, complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za). To exercise any of these rights, email me@wesleyclassen.co.za — requests are handled within a reasonable time and free of charge for straightforward requests. See also our PAIA Manual for formal access requests.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
