Terms & Conditions

Webology · Last updated 28 July 2026

1. Who we are

Webology is a sole-proprietor software and web development business operated by Wesley Classen in Cape Town, South Africa ("Webology", "I", "we"). These terms apply to all quotes, previews, websites, systems, and support services provided by Webology.

2. Free previews

Webology may build a working preview of a proposed website or system at no cost to you. The preview model works as follows:

The preview is provided free of charge and without obligation — viewing a preview does not commit you to purchase anything. The preview remains the property of Webology and is hosted on Webology's infrastructure. Previews may be removed after 30 days if no agreement is reached. Content you supply for a preview (logos, photos, text) remains yours and will be deleted on request.

3. Quotes and payment

All project work is quoted at a fixed price before work begins, in South African Rand and valid for 30 days. Payment for a previewed website is due on your approval of the preview and before the site is transferred to your hosting or domain. For larger quoted projects, a payment schedule will be stated in the quote. Invoices are payable in full by the due date stated on the invoice.

4. Ownership and intellectual property

All work produced by Webology remains the property of Webology until final payment is received in full. On full payment, ownership of the delivered website or system (excluding third-party components and Webology's pre-existing tools and libraries) transfers to you. Content you supply remains yours at all times.

5. Care plans

Care plans are month-to-month and may be cancelled by either party with one calendar month's written notice. A care plan covers hosting management, security updates, backups, and reasonable small content changes as described in your plan. It does not cover new features or redesigns, which are quoted separately.

6. Hosting and third parties

Live client websites are hosted with reputable third-party hosting providers. Webology is not responsible for outages, data loss, or failures caused by third-party services (hosting providers, payment gateways, domain registrars, or similar), but will assist in resolving such issues where reasonably possible.

7. Limitation of liability

Webology's total liability arising from any project or service is limited to the amount you actually paid Webology for that project or service. Webology is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or business opportunities, or for losses arising from your use or misuse of a delivered system. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

8. Your responsibilities

You confirm that content you supply does not infringe third-party rights, and that you have authority to contract on behalf of your business. You are responsible for the accuracy of business information (prices, hours, offers) published on your site once handed over, unless a care plan covers content updates.

9. General

These terms are governed by South African law. If any clause is unenforceable, the rest remain in force. Webology may update these terms; the version on this page applies from its "last updated" date. Questions: me@wesleyclassen.co.za.
